My new etsy site is up and running! I have to say, I am very proud of what I accomplished.  To put a cherry on top, I've already made two sales! This is such a rewarding experience.  Can't wait to post my etched made to order glasses on their this winter!

Quick Post!

I don't really have time to blog right now but I figured "Hey, if I'm not getting homework done I might as well do something!" I just found this new site called Influenster and it seems pretty interesting! Since I love trying to new products and telling people what I think about them, I figured Influenster could help me do that! I've only been able to write 3 reviews so far because they take a little time and I really should get cracking on my boat load of homework.  Can't wait to see what this site has in store! Looks very interesting.

In other news, I have spent way too much money on Christmas gifts (both for my self and others haha) so far, and I'm not even done!  Found some really good deals, and it's just so hard for me to walk away from a really good deal!

Until next time :)
Erin

Old Orchard is only 4 days away :)

Now that OOB Maine is only a few short days away, I am getting so excited! As of now, the forecast looks a little "iffy." Looks like there could be some thunderstorms but I'm hoping that will all clear up by the time we get there.
Our plans include, Funtown Splashtown USA, paddle boarding, indoor go-karting, and I'm hoping they have horses available for a beach ride!

I have started planning meals to make since we have a grill there and a SMALL kitchen.  For breakfasts, I'm going to pick up some eggs, cheese, and peppered bacon (Chris' fav) for him, and I'm going to make a coffee cake and banana bread muffins for me :)  For lunches, we will just pack simple sandwiches (turkey with cucumber and onions) and snacks.  For DINNERS! (This is where I'm all excited) I want to go out to a nice dinner on the beach one night, but as for the other nights our menu includes: grilled haddock in foil packets with asparagus olive oil, lemon, and pepper; stuffed turkey and beef burgers with chips, hot dogs and sausages,  and possibly a taco salad!

I can't wait to have 5 whole days with Chris in a place we've never been.  I'm so excited to be two minutes walk from the beach, and ten minutes walk to the pier! I'm going shopping today to pick up some new flip flops, and a couple other things.  I can't believe that we've already been together for 2 YEARS! Just keeps getting better :)

Save the Dates!

So, My mom and Tony are getting married next July.  I have been experimenting on different save the date ideas and I finally found the design that looks both feminine but classic and a little masculin.  I think they will really like it!

The large magnet types will fit perfectly on the guests fridge before the wedding!

My Brand New Keurig

I walked into a giant box last night.  Turned out to be a present from Chris!  Apparently he found a great deal on a Keurig coffee machine for my new apartment! It has three cup size settings and even came with a "starter's variety pack"!  Can't wait to try it out!  I am currently in the market for a couple refillable K-cups to save lots of money during the school year.

If anyone knows of a good place to find some reasonably priced refillables let me know!

Rose Cakes!

So I have fallen in love with cake decorating since taking a beginners/intermediate cake decorating class for my job.

I got some of my own supplies and started with a double layer red velvet cake with rose decoration for Chris' families "7th of July party."

One of my boss' from Moo's place had a birthday two days ago and I decided to make another rose cake for her birthday. I used a 1M tip to pipe the roses on the cake.

Another tip, I don't do a crumb coat when frosting this kind of cake because the 1M tip pipes a very large layer of frosting.

The cake on the cake stand is the red velvet cake and I used a royal icing that didn't have any refrigerator need since the cake was being left out for a but during the party. The second cake on the old doily was frosted with a simple buttercream icing that had to be kept in the fridge.

Personally I liked how the double layer red velvet cake came out because the royal icing does a great job of hardening on the outside and keep its shape when the roses are piped.

My First Post!

Oh my goodness, this is my first blog post!  I can't believe that I have actually started my own blog!  I am a junior in college pursuing a bachelors in Early Childhood Education (teacher certification k-3.) I also have a serious addiction to DIY sites, blogs, and of course, Pinterest.

Over the last few years I have fallen in love with all things crafty.  I always had an eye for design and I have taken it to a whole new level.   I started making my own Christmas gifts about four years back and have recently translated that to daily life.

Being in school is difficult on the bank even before adding in normal expenses, books, and miscellaneous expenditures.  That being said, I have taken an interest in inexpensive home cooked meals, coupons, deal finding, and homemade gifts.

I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions or constructive criticism you are more than welcome to leave a post! I will respond to every post as soon as possible!
